Day-11(5-5-2020) Webinar – International Student Interactions & Plant Space Biology-Astrobiology

Dr. J. Rathinamala, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology welcomed the gathering and insisted the students to interact with the resource person and get benefitted. Dr. B. Anirudhan, Nehru Arts and Science College felicitated the gathering and insisted the students to get exposed through online mode. Dr. P. Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru group of institutions presided over the function and he congratulated the team for taking effort by the department and it should continue for the benefit of the students. Dr. N. Saranya, Assistant Professor Department of Microbiology introduced the chief guest. Tugze Celayir Research Scholar Istanbul University Turkey as our Resource Person she just shared her journey from High school to How she became a Molecular Biologist. She just made us so rich today by her valuable tips in how to design CV Resume along with improving our skillset. Further she added some important competitive exams like TOEFL MCAT GRE & how to schedule the preparations evenly to excel in particular exam. She emphasized more on how to update yourselves by online courses and Yes her Travel for Science became the biggest inspiration for all of us .Lastly brief discussion about PLANT SPACE BIOLOGY-ASTROBIOLOGY was initiated which was really fascinating topic which covered possibilities of microbes & their survival in space supporting publications and Ongoing Researches were shared via screen. It is beneficial (and) helpful for all group of people: Researchers, Businessmen, Students, Academics and practitioners. It is an appropriate way to flourish and enhance your network and awareness of different people all over the world. Most of the presentations was so engaging and very beneficial. The conference is over but still it will be remembered due to the way it is conducted. I do believe that everyone attended is satisfied with the outcome of the conference and this could only become possible because of the organisers who put their best to organise it in the best possible manner. Dr. J. Rathinamala, Professor and Head proposed vote of thanks.

The emergence of microbiology in the 19th century was made possible by the use of new tools: first, the popularization of the microscope, then the development of culture techniques, then the discovery that some bacteria could not be grown in presence of oxygen, and, finally, the development of the techniques of staining and gelification of culture media. Microbiology was initially intended to understand the processes of fermentation by Pasteur and then, microbial diseases of humans, animals, and plants. To demonstrate that Bacillus anthracis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis were indeed infectious causative agents of anthrax and tuberculosis, respectively, Koch proposed criteria that were used throughout the 20th century, even if they were incomplete . Pasteur immediately thought about translational research by filing patents to control microbiological processes and by developing products to protect humans from microbes, such as vaccination, which was first tested with a culture-modified microorganism.
