Alumni Guest Lecture on “Forensic Science – Scope and Job opportunities”

The Alumni Guest Lecture was held on 28.06.2019 for II B. Sc., Microbiology and II B. Sc., Microbiology with Nanotechnology students. Ms. Bincy Unni was acted as resource person who studied B. Sc., Microbiology during the academic year 2014 – 2017. Dr. J. Rathinamala, Head, Department of Microbiology welcomed the gathering and Dr. B. David Jayaseelan introduced Ms. Bincy Unni.

            Ms. Bincy Unni delivered a lecture on “Forensic Science – Scope and Job opportunities”. She addressed the students and explained about importance of Microbiology in the field of Forensic Science, basic techniques for identification of suspected cases, scope of Medical Microbiology and Criminology, providing scientifically based information through the analysis of physical evidence, collected at a crime scene, analyzed in a crime laboratory and then the results presented in court. Also she explained about the Colleges and Universities offering the Post Graduation course in Forensic Science. About 66 students were benefited and she also thanked Principal, Head and Faculty members for giving an opportunity to deliver lecture to the students.

                                                                                                                      

      Outcome of the Event

  The students understood the importance and the scope of Forensic Science they showed interested in learning the techniques   of detective methods employed in criminology.
