In context of Mahatma Gandhi 150th birth anniversary, MHRD in association with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural education (MGNCRE), is promoting Gandhiji,s Nai Talim experiential education with dignity of labour by celebrating National Tai Talim week’ In this regard, staff members from Department of Biotechnology along with II PG and UG Biotechnology students visited bitter gourd and banana farm near T.M. palayam village on 03.10.2019. The farmers in the farm explained about the cultivation, maintenance and water requirement for the farming praetice. The students involved in few agricultural operations and interact with the farmers and clarified their doubts regarding the agricultural practice, economic importanee of agriculture and also constrains faced by the farmers during the farming period. The students have expressed their interest in involving agriculture in near future.
