The School of Computational Sciences and the Centre for Digital Learning (CDL) at Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, have organized a one-day National Seminar on “Futuristic AI & Open Source Software” on 13.09.2023, at P.K. Das Auditorium, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. There are a total of two hundred-plus participants from across India. The seminar commenced with a prayer song, followed by a welcome address given by Dr. K. Selvavinayaki, Dean of the School of Computational Sciences. Lamp lighting ceremony was conducted by all the dignitaries on the dais. This was followed the Presidential address by Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal of Nehru Arts and Science College. Dr. N. Kavitha, Head of the Department of Computer Science, introduced the chief guest of the seminar, Mrs. Akanksha Saini, National Coordinator of IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial, MoE, Government of India. Mrs. Saini discussed about open source software and its features, explaining how these software applications are useful to student communities. During the forenoon session, the guest of honor, Mr. Jayaraman, Technical Product Manager at Mindgraph Technologies Pvt. Ltd., addressed the gathering and spoke on Future of AI and Education. He explored Artificial Intelligence and its impact on education, also touching upon the future of Artificial Intelligence and how it will shape the world. Prior, he was introduced by Dr. J. Maria Syla, Head, Department of Information Technology. Overall, the sessions were beneficial to the participants in terms of their effectiveness and usefulness. The participants gained exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Open Source Software. Dr. N. Saranya, convener & Head of the Department of IoT & AIML, delivered the vote of thanks.
