Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore Department of Microbiology Organized International webinar on 27.06.2020 through online mode. Dr. J. Rathinamala, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology welcomed the gathering and insisted the students to interact with the resource person and get benefitted. Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal Nehru Arts and Science College felicitated the gathering and insisted the students to get exposed through online mode. The first session of the International Webinar was handled by Dr Senthil Kumar Arumughasamy of University of Nottingham, Malaysia. The session was emphasised on Bioplastics and biopolymers in research using enzymes. He was flawless in delivering an interesting topic on bioplastics. The session stressed more on Biopolymers, synthesis of PCL, Ring opening polymerization(ROP), Enzymatic polymerization and Reactors .The session explained about the effects of plastics and their back effects on the environment& the recent technologies adopted in research. He explained on Rectors and various chemical reaction such as “Endothermic and Exothermic” reactions in a reactor. He introduced the University of Nottingham, Malaysia to the participants. He encouraged students to do projects related to biopolymers. The webinar generated lots of ideas about how to continue and expand skills in research on bioplastics and biopolymers using enzymes. Most of the slides were so engaging and very beneficial. I do believe that everyone attended is satisfied with the outcome of the conference and this could only become possible because of the organisers who put their best to organise it in the best possible manner.
