Faculty Induction Programme – 2021” 27.09.2021 to 01.10.2021

Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized “Faculty Induction Programme – 2021” for the newly joined faculty members from 27.09.2021to 01.10.2021. Faculty Induction Programme – 2021 is designed to provide a systematic and comprehensive support system for the new faculty members. The primary objective of the programme is to empower and motivate the faculty members for enlivening the learning process by adopting novel pedagogic approaches which are collaborative and participant centered, to integrate learning and teaching with ICT, and to equip them with the latest assessment tools in higher education. The first session was inaugurated on 27.09.2021 at 2.00 pm. Dr. N. Shani, IQAC Coordinator delivered the welcome address and delineated the expectations and set the roles and responsibilities of the faculty members in terms of academics and evaluation. Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal delivered the presidential address and enlightened the faculty members on various issues with reference to establishment, academics, service rules and regulations besides research and development being carried out at NASC.

The key speaker of the first session was Dr. K. Selvavinayaki, Dean – SoCS. Curriculum Design is very important in ensuring a dynamic teaching-learning environment. The session clarified the objectives, purpose and ways of designing curriculum. She said that curriculum design must be a conscious planning effort. It is not casual, nor is it the sum total of lots of different changes being made in the curriculum over weeks, months, and years. It involves using an explicit process that identifies clearly what will be done, by whom, and when.

Canvas is a Learning Management System which comprises the below modules to help teachers.

She elucidated on the objectives of the Skill Based Courses and the main function of New Gen IEDC. The main focus of the Centre for Skill Development is knowledge acquisition and up gradation of skill set. Education is fundamental for human development. Skill and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development. The center will envisage offering industry-driven courses of high quality with focus on employability. The main focus of Nehru Arts and Science College (NASC) is to attain the student a status of Industry/market ready.

He amplified the A-Z services being available at library including concurrence of data on thesis and project reports looping a repository as per the guidelines of UGC and AICTE.
