Enhancing Farmers Income – Reinforcing the Developmental Activities by Convergence”

The program mainly focused about the income generation of the farmers during all seasons, without having any type of distractions like manmade and nature disasters. Sri.P. Nagaraj Frederick, Subject Matter Specialist (Agricultural Engineering) , ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Coimbatore welcome the gathering. Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal of Nehru Arts and Science Presided over the function. The enormous number of resources are available in the name of different schemes for the farmer’s income generation in Tamilnadu Government that are explained in the webinar by the resource persons from department of Agriculture, Horticulture. Chief Guest Dr. P. Kumaravadivel, Chief Scientist, ICAR KVK Rural Development Centre, Engineering department of Collectorate, Coimbatore gave many needed information regarding the quality of soil, seeds and the ways of cultivation of various types of vegetable plants. Sri. C.Thirumalai Rao AGM & DDM – NABAD, Coimbatore, offered the importance of the rural development. Dr.P.Nathiya, Director-CRD, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore presented the rural enhancement programmes, that are all done within the adopted villages through college and also she explained the future plan of the centre for rural development. Smt. Tamilselvi, Deputy Director, Department of Agriculture, PA Agri, Collectorate, Er. Unnikrishnan, Superintendenting Engineer, Agricultural Engineering Dept and Smt. M. Bhuvaneshwari, Deputy Director of Horticulture, Coimbatore along with her Assistant Ms.Madhubala were explained various schemes offered by the agriculture and horticulture for the development of farming in rural areas. Dr. D. Vimal Kumar Convenor thanked the Resource Person and participants. Function ended successfully.

Outcome of the Event
The participants get clarified regarding the schemes and welfares available for the enrichment of the villages. The farmers cleared their doubts related to soil and water testing, importance of rainwater harvesting in their farming lands and the usage of natural fertilizers. And also they came to know about the monetary welfare schemes and projects. They gained the knowledge about how to get the same, where to apply, whom they have to approach, etc. Finally they got the proper information related to the development of farming and rural areas, with the help o the Tamilnadu government from this webinar
