The Department of Bioscience, Nehru Arts and Science College organized a two day International Conference on Current Trends in Advanced Biomedical Technology (CTAB – 2018) on 24th and 25th, January – 2018. The Conference was inaugurated with a prayer. Welcome address by Mr. Praveen, Student Chairman, Department of Microbiology Association of Intellectual Microbiologists (AIMS). Dr. J. Rathinamala, Organizing Secretary, CTAB – 2018, elaborated on the glimpses of CTAB. Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal, Nehru Arts and Science College delivered the Presidential Address in which he highlighted the importance of Research in Bioscience and Pharmaceutical fields and the opportunities available worldwide for the same. The inaugural address was given by Dr. Pariyaporn Itsaranuwat, Deputy Head of the
Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Technology Managing Partner, PMP Biotech LLC (USA) Mahasarakham University, Thailand. She explained about the Biomedical Technology and its applications in therapy. Dr. R. Vijayaraghavan, Dean, Bioscience and Convenor, CTAB – 2018 felicitated the gathering and emphasized on the importance of Biomedical Technology in medicinal field. Ms. Sruthi Narayanan, Vice Chairman, AIMS proposed the vote of thanks.
In the First session Dr. Pariyaporn Itsaranuwat gave key note on Probiotics & Prebiotics and Their Impacts on Biomedical Areas, and in the second session Dr. P. Manivel, Director, ICAR Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Research (ICAR-DMAPR)Boriavi , Anand, Gujarat, delivered a lead lecture on Phytotherapeutics.
Participants from 12 different colleges, various Universities and students from our college were actively participated. There was a session for poster presentation and students displayed their posters in advanced research and technology. The Three Best posters were selected for the award.
Outcome of the event
Participants from different colleges, various Universities and students from our college were actively participated. After the successful compilation of the event all the student got awareness of research and to way to produce their own products for their future development.
