The Department of Biotechnology, Nehru Arts and Science College has organized One Day invited talk on “Applications of Biotechnology in Agriculture” under DBT Star College Scheme on 4th March 2020. The inauguration of the invited talk started with invocation followed by welcome address by Dr.L. Kishmu, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Biotechnology, NASC. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal, NASC in which he highlighted the importance of Biotechnology in Agriculture sustainability. Dr. K. M. Harinikumar, Professor, Department of Plant Biotechnology, College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences, G.K.V.K Campus, Bangalore was the chief guest. The benefits of biotechnology in agriculture are most readily demonstrated by the chief guest. I addition he gave an overview on how to enable biotechnology to move forward to meet future needs.
