The Department of Visual Communication organized a Online Adjunct Professors Symposium on New trends in media on 10.09.2021. Dr. K. Pradeep, HoD i/c, Asst. Prof. Department of Visual Communication welcomed the gathering and the resource persons. In the first session Mr. Favor Francis started in deliberation on basics of advertising and its various concepts. Further he briefly explained on types of advertising and its history. In the second session resource person Mr. Sathiyaraj, reporter, Dinamalar, Coimbatore begun his class on “news reporting”, he explained techniques in news reporting, structure and various writing styles. After the interaction with the students he recommended the students to take up internship in various print media to gain experience in news reporting.
Outcome of the event:
First unit of News reporting and Fundamentals of advertising was covered for II UG and III UG respectively for the students. The students got an overall idea about the industry and its employability skills.
