The Department of Costume Design and Fashion and Institution Innovation Council conducted Workshop on “Nuance of Embroidery sewing Machine and its Entrepreneurial Opportunities” on 01/04/2022 for — Participants (including staffs and students of NASC) and Mr. V Maheshwaran, UJ Marketing Manager, Usha Janome Sewing Machine, Tirupur acted as the Resource person.. The students learn to create a diverse set of samples and images with a range of visual effects, from ‘drawn’ to decorative. He taught setting up of sewing machine, preparation of images and fabrics, experimenting different ways to add colour to the images by threads, applique, reverse applique, whip stitch, cording, couching and cutwork.
Outcome of the Event
Students got an opportunity to know about the art of free motion or freehand machine embroidery, using coloured threads to create stunning textiles.
