The Department of Microbiology organized Three-day DBT sponsored workshop on “Analytical Techniques in Biological Sciences” for UG final year students of other colleges from 25th to 27th February 2020 at PG Lab. Totally 8 modules were handled by faculty members of Microbiology department and also acted as Resource person for various modules in their area of expertise. They have given hands on training to the 36 students participated from various colleges like Vivekanandha College of Arts and Science for Women, Sankari, KSR college of Technology, Thiruchencode, Dr. NGP College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, PSG College of Arts and Science and Sadakathullah Appa College, Tirunelveli.
Inauguration:
Inauguration of “Workshop on Analytical Techniques in Biological Sciences” was held at PG Lab, Department of Microbiology. Welcome address was given by Dr. J. Rathinamala, Convenor of the program, Dr. R. Vijayaraghavan, Dean Biosciences, DBT star Coordinator at and felicitated the gathering. The introduction of the resource persons and the schedule for the 3 days was explained Dr. T.H. Sukirtha and Dr. S. Esath Natheer, respectively. The lighting of lamp by Dr. R. Vijayaraghavan and the two participants of other colleges in presence of all the participants.
Outcome of the Event
The participants acquired knowledge on Analytical Techniques in Biological Sciences they gained confidence in handling different instruments and in performing error free procedures.
