While delivering the Presidential address Dr.P. Krishnakumar CEO and Secretary NGI emphasized that he really appreciates the growth of the department as a whole .He said that biodiversity and its conservation is a global issue he highlighted the important role of Biodiversity in economic sectors such as agriculture, forestry, fisheries and tourism. He also mentioned and appreciated the coordinator for organizing such valuable and fruitful activities at Nehru Arts and Science campus. Prof.Dr. Edathil Vijayan ICMR-Emeritus Medical Scientist delivered felicitation address during the inauguration who highlighted various aspects and perspectives dealing with strategies for conservation of bacteria, algae, and all other life forms subsequently genetic resources to sustain the life on ecosystem.
