The Department of Social Work organized a visit to Jacob Care Centre (Home for Senior Citizens) in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore, as part of their home visit initiative for III BSc Food Science and Nutrition students. During the visit, Ms. Kanimozhi, the center’s counselor, and Superintendent Mr. Prabhakaran provided an orientation on the center’s structure and operations. Students engaged with the residents through various activities, fostering relaxation and interaction, and gaining valuable insights into elder care and community service. This collaborative effort enriched the students’ practical learning experience in both social work and nutritional care.
