Student and Staff Exchange Programme :Date 26/2/20 – 2/3/20 , 7 days

Department of IT&CT signed a MOU with PCMSD College for women, Jalandhar. As per the MOU one of the criteria was staff and student exchange programme. The duration of the programme was 7 days. Knowledge sharing and resource sharing on both technical and team building activities happened during the exchange programme.

Outcome of the Event

Through the exchange programme the culture between both the states has been initiated. Knowledge sharing and resource sharing in terms of research will also be established through the MOU.

Career Guidance and Workshop in Python Programming

Department organized 1 day Career Gudiance and Workshop on “Programming in Python” on 26/02/20 for III B.Sc. IT and III B.Sc. CT students. Resource person was Dr.E.Chandra Blessie, Professor, Department of MCA, Nehru College of Management. Resource person delivered programming methodology in Python, Applications of Python in real time environment.

Outcome of the Event
Students acquired basic knowledge on Programming Python.

Mission Clean Campus

Cleaniness in and around the campus and waste minimization. Water conservation and management including waste water management and reuse, rain water harvesting, etc., Environment-friendly activities adopted and practiced by the campus. Greenery within the campus to provide pollution free air and carbon-sink.

Extension Activity Report

Department of IT&CT conducted extension activity at Venkateshwara HSS, Appanaikenpetti, Sulur. 100 School students participated in the event. Mobile Cyber Security awareness programme was given to school students by our students. Various team building activities was also conducted to the students.

National Seminar on “Internet of Things

Department organized 1 day national seminar on “Internet of Things” on 21/02/2020. Resource person was Mr.Liqzan Manna, Trainer IOT, Innovians, Noida. Around 200 Students got benefited through the event. Resource person delivered future, issues and challenges in IOT

Outcome of the Event

Student acquired the basic knowledge on Internet of Things.

Feblentina and Savishkar

Feblentina is an inter-collegiate technical symposium and Savishkar is an intra departmental technical symposium. Around 200 external participants and 300 internal participants participated in the event. 10 events being conducted on both the days 11/02/2020 and 12/02/2020.

Outcome of the Event

Student learnt how to organize programmes, time management, team work financial management and technical knowledge. External participants.

Alumni Guest Lecture

 The Department organized Alumni Guest Lecture on 05.07.2019 in the topic “Grasp Opportunities in Industry”. The resource person was Ms. M. Arya, Assistant System Engineer, TCS, Chennai. She shared information about how to grasp opportunities in industries and conveyed lot of information about how to face an interview, how to develop Technical skills and she motivated the students by her personal experience and the program was ended with Vote of thanks, given by Ms. Sheela Newsheeba , Assistant professor , Department of IT & CT. The Outcome of the program was gained knowledge in industrial updates, needs and expectations etc.

Summer Project Exhibition 2019

 Summer Project Exhibition 2019 was organized by Department of IT&CT students on 21.06.2019 at IT&CT classrooms. The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr.B. Anirudhan, Principal, Nehru Arts and Science College. The final year and II year students of IT&CT exhibited their software projects and models in the following title:

The above summer project models were evaluated by Mr.Sathymoorthy, Assistant Professor, Department of MBA and Mr.T.Thiayagarajan, Assistant Professor, Department of MCA, Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management. In classwise the best model was encouraged by award. The students of other department visited the exhibition. The outcome of the Exhibition enhanced the student’s leadership quality, research skills, organizing skills, communication skills, team work, creativity, innovative skills, social responsibilities, recent technologies in IT field. The overall feedback was excellent project and neat display.

Association Inaugural and seminar

The Department organized Association Inaugural Ceremony “TechTitans” on 05.07.19. Welcome address was given by Mr. P.K. Manoj Kumar, Head Department of IT & CT.Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal, NASC delivered the Inaugural Address. The Chief Guest Mr. Shoban K. R, Director, IBrand Career Studio, Coimbatore, he delivered about Latest Technologies in Industry by showing lot of videos and elaborate about various opportunities in Industries. The outcome of the seminar is gained knowledge in Recent Technologies, Idea about automations, Technical skills and various opportunities in IT etc.
