Department of Social Work has organized one week Rural Camp – AVODHA 2022 at Rottigoundanur, T.MPalayam Panchayat. The students were divided in to 5 different groups and done survey on the basis assessing basic needs in the village, population , literacy level and found out needed facilities in the village through self prepared questionnaire. After survey it was evaluated by discussion and noted for futher implementation. Mr.Akhil from Westric Trust addressed the village people about solid waste management. Dr.Vilaya Kumar, Project Director, National Child Welfare under Ministry of Labour, Coimbatore addressed the gathering about the children safety and how girl should be protected from evil things prevailing in the society. Mr.Siraj co-ordinator of wild life conversation trust addressed the gathering about the importance of tree plantation and how we have to protect the birds. In the end of the programme he distributed tree saplings and trees were planted out side the school campus by the village children. Veterinary camp was conducted by the Coimbatore veterinary hospital. The programme was inaugurated by the Joint director, Assistant Director of Animal Husbandry. Nearly 250 cattle’s got benefited through the camp. Mr.Ravi, rtd, general manger of Canara Bank addressed the village women’s about the importance of self help groups and its financial assistance and explained about various loan schemes available for the betterment of village people.
