Online Workshop On “Mixed Media Wall Hanging ” On 03.10.2020

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion has organised a Online Workshop on “Mixed Media Wall Hanging ” on 03.10.2020 for 70 Participants (including staffs and students of Nehru Arts and Science College) and Ms. G. Vasumathi, Assistant Professor, NIFT -TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, Tirupur acted as the Resource person.

The workshop explored the skills in the use of basic tools, techniques, and processes to work from concept to finished product, including knowledge of paints and surfaces. The students were given practical knowledge on the application of fabric colours and their uses. The workshop helped to create interest in students to learn a new technique or medium in Art and enhance their creativity by listening to artists experiences. This workshop was planned with an aim to develop and enhance skills towards free hand painting and texture.

Outcome of the Event

The participants gained ability to explore the expressive possibilities of various media, and the diverse conceptual modes available which may deal with direct painting from nature or with alternative approaches to the making of traditional or innovative two- and, three-dimensional images.

Webinar On Tech Pack-The Blueprint For World Of Textiles

The Department of Costume Design and Fashion has organized an International webinar on “Tech Pack-The blueprint for world of textiles” on 30-9-2020. Dr.S.Jayapriya Head Department of Costume Design and Fashion, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Belu Chi, Product developer, Technical Designer/ Co-Founder of ABC Seams @ Australia was the resource person of the programme. She elaborated on the real time experience of textile industry and the important of the tech pack. The need of textile software’s and how it manages all the transactions of the company. The Role of textile software in sales and purchase order and operation cost. She also explained how Integrating textile management software with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software gives financial insights into production. ERP software designed for textiles and apparels can assist in managing our complete business progression, end-to-end.71 participants have participated in this webinar including NASC Staff and Students.

Outcome

The Participants are acquired the Knowledge on ERP on textile & apparel Industry and the Importance of the tech pack and gain productivity in the textile industry.
