The department has organized Online Workshop in the title “Data Analysis Using SPSS”. Dr. N. Kavitha, Associate Professor and Head welcomed the gathering. The Resource Person Dr. A. Saravanan explained statistical concepts, viz., population Sample, quantitative and qualitative variables, parameter, statistic, sample size, sample technique, stages of data analysis, and measurement of scale, hypothesis, level of significance, calculated value, table value and concepts of sig. or p value. After that, the resource person gave practical training about how to convert the collected data file from Excel to SPSS and how to apply the statistical tools in the SPSS software like compute variables, recode into different variables, frequency, mean, standard deviation, minimum, maximum, cross table, Chi-square, Anova, correlation, regression and factor analysis. Out of the results, the interpretations were drawn for each analysis. Dr. D. Vimal Kumar organizing Secretary thanked the Resource Person and participant. Function ended successfully.
The participants came to know the various statistical techniques and concepts of sig. or p. They also learnt the skills by practical training about how to convert the collected data file from Excel to SPSS and how to apply the statistical tools in the SPSS software.
