The Department of Costume Design and Fashion and Lions Club of Pollachi Excellence has organized an Extension Activity Workshop on “HAND EMBROIDERY” on 02.12. 2021 at Pollachi. Our Faculty Dr. S. Jayapriya (Associate Professor &Head) & M. Nandhini (Assistant Professor) taught participants about the Hand Embroidery Stitches including chain stitch, stem stitch, bullion knot stitch, fly stitch, fishbone stitch, blanket stitch and satin stitch. There were 20 participants. They applied the taught designs in their Handkerchief. Dr. S. Jayapriya & Ms. M.Nandhini oriented them on Scope of Hand Embroiderer. The self-help women felt that the Workshop was very helpful.
Outcome
The self-help women have been provided with Self-employment & Entrepreneurial traits and Knowledge on the Scope of Hand Embroiderer.
