The Department of Social Work, Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, has partnered with the ANT Foundation to launch the ‘Kargai Nandre’ project, offering consultancy services to enhance the behaviour and reduce the dropouts of Corporation School students in Coimbatore District. In this project, 18 students of our students have been selected as volunteers to work as student counsellors. As a part of the project, our department had organised a gender equality program for students on “Role of youth in women’s safety” and gave input on 20.08.2024. The sessions taken by the resource person cover different types of problems faced by girl children and the role of youth to protect them. And also orientation was given to the student volunteers, and ID cards were distributed.
