Digital and Cyber Forensic Science focuses on applying scientific techniques and technology to investigate cybercrimes, aiding the legal system during criminal inquiries. Cyber forensic specialists are tasked with establishing connections between digital evidence and criminal activities by thoroughly analyzing and interpreting data from various sources, such as computers, mobile devices, and networks. Some experts work on-site to gather evidence directly from crime scenes, while others focus on laboratory-based analysis of digital material provided by investigators.
In addition to their investigative work, cyber forensic experts often testify as key witnesses in court, providing critical insights in both criminal and civil cases. As technology evolves, so do the methods used by criminals, making the role of cyber forensics more vital than ever. Unfortunately, the Indian judicial system faces a shortage of experts skilled in the use of modern forensic tools, contributing to a backlog of over two million cases awaiting resolution. This course equips students with a deep understanding of digital forensics, cybersecurity principles, and relevant legal aspects, preparing them for impactful careers. Students will develop the foundational skills needed to become experts in the field, offering significant contributions to law enforcement and the broader justice system in India.
To create a safe nation by educating younger minds with up-to-date security and forensic protocols to protect critical digital infrastructure.
Encourage the students to dream, be creative and experiment without compromising social values in order to serve humanity.
