There is always a choice you have to make in life in the right direction, be it personally or professionally. This unique event of presenting offer letters to students who had to cross four hurdles to reach the point of getting selected was a great step on the part of the students and the faculty of NGI and more so, the faculty of NCPIR in helping emerging professionals understand the skills and behaviors required to succeed at the workplace.
Riddhi 2018, conducted by NCP IR team Coimbatore, on 20 March, 2018 was a day to cherish and remember for a long time to come in the history of Nehru Group of Institutions, especially the NCPIR Department. It was organized at P.K. Das Auditorium, Nehru Gardens, T.M. Palayam to felicitate 1100 plus offers to eligible students on successfully getting selected and placed in prominent companies and industries across India, to name a few - CTS, Amazon, Capgemini, Infosys-IT, KGISL, Tech Mahindra, Oberoi Hotel, Technosoft, Edufic, HDFC Life and many more visited NGI for recruitment. This ‘Signature Event’ was held to congratulate those who made a decision to take that first step into the corporate world with the motivation of their parents and pedagogues.‘Riddhi’ also stood as a promoting and encouraging factor to those who would be stepping into these very shoes in the upcoming years.
The welcome address was given by Mr. Sanjiv Srinivasan, Group Head Training & Development, NCPIR cordially thanking all the dignitaries, parents and guests present on the occasion, and most importantly, congratulating the students who were on the threshold of a new life crossing over the boundaries of college life.
The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Jude Xavier, Vice President & Head- Human Resources, Technosoft Global Services Pvt. Ltd. Chennai, speaking on the occasion, applauded the efforts taken by the faculty and parents to have encouraged the students in deciding the right choice in their professional lives that would shape their overall personality, reflecting greater confidence and enterprise. He urged the students to challenge themselves continuously so that the desire for growth was always indwelling. He encouraged the students to in an attitude of always wanting to learn that would result in a cycle of learning, unlearning and re-learning. He wished the students the very best for their future.
The Presidential address was given by CEO & Secretary, NGI, Dr. P. Krishna Kumar, who said it was proud moment for him, the management and the faculty, as a whole, in seeing his students who will always be a part of the NGI family successfully enter the corporate world that would mould them into great leaders, entrepreneurs and heroes of tomorrow. He encouraged and wished them all the best in their new roles as professionals and to improve their domain knowledge and skills irrespective of the salary which would initially be difficult; however, hard work and dedication would always pay off in the end. He said he hoped to see them take up higher positions in their respective organizations and motivate the younger lot of the college.
Dr. Chaitanya Krishna Kumar, Managing Representative, gave the felicitation address and in her speech advised the students to take every opportunity to update their domain knowhow for growth in their organizations, while Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal of Nehru Arts & Science College addressed the students who emerged successful in their interviews and got placed in the best of companies that would shape not only their career but also their future and their overall personality, He encouraged the students to not only be pleased with getting a job but put in every effort to staying is in it as well.

PLACEMENT POLICY & PROCEDURE
Students who are eligible for any placement drive will have to give her consent before attending the same to the concerned coordinator. Failing which the candidate will be marked absent for the particular drive.
Student who fails to attend the placement drive, whether on or off campus subsequent to her consent for attending the same will be given warning.
Student, once selected will not be allowed further in any placement drive until and unless if it’s their core company.
Students should come in formal dress along with hard copies of the following:
Updated resume.
Passport size photographs.
Photostat of relevant documents.
All the queries regarding placement drives will be handled by the coordinators (students/staff/placement cell staff members).
PLACEMENT PROCESS
Nehru Corporate and Industrial Relation will send placement invitation letters to the companies enclosing a brief summary of the courses available.
The company will send Letter, Email with a brief company profile, job profile and details on campus recruitment drive.
The company can visit the campus for a Pre-Placement Talk either before the selection processes or can combine it with the final recruitment.
On receiving information file, the placement announces the requirements of the company, asking interested students to submit resumes/name list, which are then handed over to the company.
The company is required to shortlist candidates from the application pool and eligibility data file sent and send the same with short listed candidates to the Nehru Corporate and Industrial Relation at the earliest
A mutual convenient date is finalized for the selection process/ recruitment drive.
The company is required to furnish the final list of students preferably on the same day, or as soon as possible, after completion of the selection process.
The offer letters need to be sent to the Nehru Corporate and Industrial Relation for handing over to the students. Offer acceptances (from the students) received, will be sent to the company by the Nehru Corporate and Industrial Relation.
