The department conducted extension activity to the Government Higher Secondary School, Devansapudhur on 19/10/2015. The session include about recent trends in IT, handled by Prof. D. Kannan, Dean CS & IT. 100 students got benefited through this activity. The following topics were discussed mobile computing, social media, merits and demerits of social media, and career guidance.
The department organized one day workshop on /01/2016 for II B.Sc IT students on the topic Java and its applications. The Workshop was handled by Mr.Karthick, HCLL. The workshop covered the following topics as

The department conducted career guidance for the final year students of IT and CT on 22/02/2016. Ms. S. Menaka, Asst. Prof, Nehru Institute of Information Technology and Management. The Student came to know about the NIITM. Student understood about the Job and Higher studies through the career guidance. Some of them were interested in joining the MCA and MBA. The procedures for higher studies were also delivered in the session. Specialization in MBA and MCA are also delivered to the students.
The II B.Sc IT student visited Accenture, Banglore as an industrial visit on 26/07/2015. The student gained knowledge on software lifecycle, how to develop the real time applications and team work. 40 students got benefited from the industrial visit.

National Seminar on “ Impact of Digitalization in India “ (SISO 2015 (Sign In – Shine Out)) was organised by Department of Computer Science, Computer Application, Information Technology and Computer Technology in Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. This is the first program ever conducted on this topic in India which is based on the major program of the Prime Minister of India known as “Digital India” which aims an enlightened and empowered society in our country. The function was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. N. Raveendran, Scientist, National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Communications and IT, New Delhi. Dr. P. Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru Group of Institutions presided over the function .Prof. D. Kannan, Dean CS/CA/IT/CT and Mrs.K. Mythili Gnanapriya, Head, Mathematics Dept., Nehru Arts and Science College, felicitated the function.Chief Guest’s Address about “ Digital India “
He explained on What is Digital India? Vision of Digital India and its core components. He told the students about nine pillars of Digital India as follows.
Broadband Highways , Universal Access to Phones, Public Internet Access Programme, e-Governance, e-Kranti, Information for All, Electronics Manufacturing, IT for Jobs and Early Harvest Programmes.
He also explained about Impact of Digital India by 2019.

Students from the above said departments were participated and got benefited through this Seminar.
