About NASC

Nehru Arts and Science College has emerged from the galaxy of NGI with the dictum, “Knowledge is wisdom”. The trust was constituted by Late. P. K. Das, the Founder Chairman. His legacy is being taken up by his sons Adv. Dr. P. Krishna Das as the Chairman and Managing Trustee and Dr. P. Krishnakumar as CEO and Secretary. Its history, heritage, societal influence with futuristic vision and strong mission, have made it one of the most prestigious institutions in Tamil Nadu.

The Institution was established in the year 1998 with 4 programs and 54 candidates with a vision of imparting “Value Based Quality Education”. The College is recognized by UGC with 2(f) and 12(B) status, reaccredited with “A” grade by NAAC, Certified by ISO 9001:2008and 14001:2004 and Affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The Institution is located in the rural locality - Thirumalayam Palayam and it promotes the feasibility of higher education for less privileged community in that area. The College has been led by the dynamic leader Dr. B. Anirudhan, Principal Nehru Arts and Science College. It has grown to the extent of catering to 3919 students with 08 Ph. D., 08 M. Phil., 11 PG and 23 UG Programmes.

The Institution has implemented an effective Internal Quality Assurance Mechanism (IQAM) and an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) since 2008 to assure quality education with global standards. All diversified activities to merge the quality related issues are steered through our IQAC. The Institution’s victorious foot steps are all coloured by inculcating the moral values, adopting innovative ideas, improving innate qualities, fostering global competencies through better understanding of our strength and weakness.

The college aims quality education which focuses on three iconic elements like knowledge, skill and behaviour. Teaching is embedded with all significant features aided with technology and modern learning tools through e - content and e- learning.

Being an ISO certified centre the college bestows the best ambiance for learning and research pursuits. The college transcends excellence by imparting various Value Added Programmes, Placement Training, Outbound Training and Industrial Collaborations. Earn while Learn is the motto of our Production Units and our students are trained in Entrepreneur Development Cell.

An Exclusive Cell NCP IR functions to provide an outstanding forum to get trained and placed in the reputed Multi- National Companies and other Industries. The Cell trains the students to cope up with the IT giant’s requirements.

As the college envisages moulding true citizens it has incorporated ,many healthy practice like students cabinet, different Clubs, Fine Arts, intellectual forum, Creative Corner, Community radio etc. to make the Academic fabric more student friendly.

Heritage in its different shades when we celebrate all the Festivals adhering the traditional belief and train the young minds in holistic way in all possible way to emerge as Responsible citizen for tomorrow.
